Minutes of the 89^th Regular Meeting

89^th Regular & Year launching meeting of the Rotary Club of Gulshan Tigers for the Rotary Year 2023-24 was held on Saturday, 8^th July 2023 at 7:30 pm at Gulshan North Club, House 4/A, Road 71, Gulshan 2.

Attendees: President Rtn. Md Rifat Amin, Rtn. Jasim Uddin FCMA, Rtn. Kazi Sabbier Hossain Marshal, Rtn. Sayedul Hassan RFSM, Rtn. AZM Roman Siddique RFSM, Rtn. Anwer Parvz Chowdhury, Rtn. Md. Ibrahim Bhuyan, Rtn. Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Rtn ISRAT JAHAN TOMA, Rtn Abu Bakar Siddique Raju, Rtn G. M. SHARIF PHF, Md. 1. IPP Rtn. Jasim Uddin called the meeting to order meeting at 7.30 pm
2. Rnt. Kazi Sabbier Hossain Marshal recited from Holy Quran
3. Rtn Chandra Shakhar Ghosh recited from Holy Gaeta
4. All the guests & members in the Standing Honor to the National.
5. PE Rtn. Anwer Parvz Chowdhury led the Rotary Invocation.
6. New President Rtn Rifat Amin takes the oath from IPP Rtn Jasim Uddin FCMA. Then the IPP handed over the charter certificate, Bell and collar to the newly incumbent President Rtn Rifat Amin.
7. IPP Jasim Uddin handed over the Meeting New President Rtn Rifat Anin.
8. President handed over the Caller to the newly appointed Secretary Rtn Ibrahim Bhuyan.
9. The President, introduced new Board of Directors and Standing Committee Chairs after another. Then the President read the oath aloud to the entire group of freshly appointed Board of Directors.
10. IPP Rtn Jasim Uddin FCMA homered by a gift from President.
11. All members of the club introduced themselves with their respective Identities at the request of the President.
12. Introduce Chief Guest, Special Guests & Visiting Guest- The President warmly greeted Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Atiar Rahman, Special Prof. Dr. Nurun Nahar Fatema & Dr. Mashiyat Maysha Ahmed. Engr Mahbub, RC Mohammadpur. Others guest- Tasfiq, Anika, Asif Muktadir, Shafin Rahman.
13. Secretary, Rtn Ibrahim Bhuyan presented a video documentary of RC Gulshan Tigers of the last four years.
14. The president elaborated the whole year action plan of the Rotary year 2023-24.
15. PP Rtn AZM Roman Siddique handed over the PHF Certificate to the Rtn G.M Shorif.
16. Speech by PP Rtn Mohiuddin Polash, honorary member of RC Gulshan Tigers. He proposed Chief guest Prof. Dr. Atiar Rahman to become an honorary member of the Rotary Club of Gulshan Tigers, he graciously agreed. Then, by wearing the Rotary Pin, Prof. Dr. Atiyar Rahman and Prof. Dr. Nurun Nahar Fatema were inducted into the Rotary family.
17. PP AZM Roman Siddique introduced Special Guest Prof. Dr. Nurun Nahar Fatema and welcome to deliver her speech.
18. Speech by Prof. Dr. Nurun Nahar Fatema- In his short speech he shared some experiences of his medical life. In the speech of the special guest Dr. Fatima pointed out that the number of children with heart disease is increasing at an alarming rate in the country and laid special importance on adding heart disease screening and awareness programs to children in school-based activities. At the same time, he urged to take CPR training program for common people including students to reduce sudden death rate due to road accidents, electrocution or various shocks.
19. Introduce the Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Atiar Rahman by Rtn Abu Bakar Siddique Raju.

20. Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Atiar Rahman Speech-  He said that the Rotary Club is doing humanitarian work all over the world with seven issues like:

• Promote peace
• Fight disease
• Provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene
• Save mothers and children
• Support education
• Grow local economies
• Protect the environment

He also mentions Rotary’s Four Way Test in his speech. He is the dreamer of mobile Banking in Bangladesh. The journey of mobile Banking like Bikas, Rocket started in 2011 when he was the Governor of Bangladesh Bank.

Dr. Atiyar Rahman is an economist, educationist and literary enthusiast. He recited a few lines from the Porichoy (পরিচয় কবিতা) poem of world poet Rabindranath Tagore. He talked about various humanitarian philosophies of Rabindranath Tagore.

He added that because there is no one to watch their kids while they are at work, poor working mothers must live in other people’s homes. He challenged the Rotary Clubs to take up the task or come up with a Day care facility for them.

He provided a comparison between some social and economic development indices between Bangladesh in 2006 and Bangladesh now and said that Bangladesh had advanced significantly since then.

21. The leadership of President Rifat Amin distributed three wheelchairs among the three needy and helpless in the presence of the chief guest. As the actual recipients could not attend due to illness, their representatives accepted the wheelchairs on their behalf.

25. At the end of the meeting, Secretary Rtn Ibrahim Bhuyan gave the Secretary’s report of the 89th regular Meeting.

26. President, Rtn Rifat Amin adjourned the meeting at 10.00 pam and announce the next 90^th regular meeting and Day long Family get-together on Saturday, 29 July 2023, at 10.00 am to 7.00 pm at The Shamol Bangla Resort, Keranigonj, Dhaka.
